We have made it half a year! It’s hard to believe because it seems like just yesterday I was waiting for Nolan’s arrival. Nolan’s milestones are really starting to pick up and we had a whole bunch of firsts this month. So here’s our 6 month old baby boy update!

6 Month Old Baby Boy Stats:
Nolan is 16 pounds 14 ounces. He gained a little over a pound from last month. He is 26.25 inches. He fits in 6-9 months clothes. Our pediatrician thinks he is doing very well and she predicts he will be an early walker — probably because he wants to keep up with his big brother!
Eating for our 6 Month Old:
We have officially started solids. We are doing a combination of Baby Led Weaning and purees. He didn’t handle chunks very well so we are mostly sticking with purees at the moment. You can check out some of Nolan’s favorite fall purees here. Our pediatrician recommended we start feeding him three times a day moving forward so that’s our plan for the coming months. He still nurses every three hours. I have one more business trip so I am trying to keep up my supply.
6 Month Old Baby Boy Milestones:
We started solids as I already mentioned. Nolan is sitting easily now on his own. He will occasionally fall backwards if he gets tired so we either sit with him or position the Boppy behind him if we step away for a moment. He does not like laying on his back and he flips to his stomach anytime he is on his back.
6 Month Old Baby Boy Sleeping Patterns:
Nolan is still waking up at 3 am. Since I have been traveling so much we haven’t focused on sleep training, but we will during the next month. Our pediatrician told us to let him cry and Aiden was at the appointment so anytime Nolan is crying, Aiden tells us it’s OK because the doctor said to let him cry 😆
He still naps two-three times a day and is out at 7 pm.
Six-Month-Old Baby Activities:
Nolan loves to bounce so we brought out our Little Einstein activity center which he has really enjoyed. We finally put together the Kick and Play Piano so he has been having fun with that. We have done a couple of playdates with his older (by six weeks) cousin and another baby we met in Stroller Strides class.
We went to another Nationals game with my mom and sister which was exciting considering they were in play off contention.
6 Month Old Baby Boy Challenges:
Other than sleep we haven’t had any major challenges this month. Nolan is such a laid back baby. The bedtime routine can be tough because it’s usually just me, so I have to manage a baby and a pre-schooler and Nolan is usually pretty cranky around bed time.
Big Brother’s Adjustment
Aiden is still great! I’ve heard issues can start around six-months when the baby is more mobile and wants to play with the same toys so we will be monitoring to see if anything pops up.
Next month ,we have our first long flight and time change with Nolan to San Diego so I will have more to report!
