When we had Aiden we chose a simple audio monitor. It worked fine until Aiden started moving around and getting mobile. At that point, it still worked, but I really wished we had a video monitor. Shortly after we found out I was pregnant with baby number two we moved Aiden out of his crib and into a toddler bed and then I REALLY wanted a video monitor. Having a second baby was the perfect excuse to find the video monitor I’ve wanted for a while. We found that the VTech RM5762 Wi-Fi Remote Access Video Baby Monitor with 5″ display and 1080p HD 360-degree Pan & Tilt Camera is perfect for new moms.

VTech Video Monitor Perfect for the Busy Mom and Dad:

There are so many video monitors on the market, so we did our research. We were looking for the following features, at a minimum:

  • A monitor that has clear HD video (even at night)
  • A camera that moves easily and shows a wide range of views (widescreen of a whole room to zoomed in to the crib)
  • A system that connects to Wi-Fi so we can stay connected even while one of us isn’t home — Dan often works during bedtime and I travel for work
  • A system we can add cameras to as our family grows
  • A system that displays the temperature and that we can speak through

We found the VTech RM5762 Remote Access Pan & Tilt Video Monitor at buybuy BABY. It met all our minimum requirements and more that we didn’t even know we wanted! We have really enjoyed it. I love that it comes with options like a two-camera option and fixed-camera option so you can find the perfect fit for your family.

The VTech RM5762-2 Wi-Fi Remote Access Video Baby Monitor with 2 Pan & Tilt Cameras, in particular, is a perfect fit for families like ours with a baby and toddler in separate rooms. Plus, once we move into a home with a playroom we can use one of the cameras in there as well. It’s nice that VTech’s products come equipped with features that can be used as our children enter the different stages of independence and that we can add additional monitors to the system to keep an eye on both of our children in different rooms.

Another feature I really love about the VTech RM5762 Wi-Fi Remote Access Video Monitor is the fact that I can go anywhere and be connected to my little ones. I travel about once a month for work so I downloaded the MyVTech Baby 1080p app. It’s nice to be able to check-in and see my babies in real-time while I am gone. Since we installed the camera I’ve been to Chicago, Iceland, and Copenhagen and was so pleased with the crystal-clear quality of the high-definition video feed.

When we are at home the VTech RM5762 Wi-Fi Remote Access Video Monitor gives us peace of mind while we are out of the room during sleep. The HD camera uses our home’s Wi-Fi connection to capture movements and sounds. We are able to easily watch our baby in real-time on the parent unit — even in the dark — thanks to the automatic infrared night vision. The range of movement is incredible with options to move the camera 360 degrees side-to-side, tilts up to 182 degrees up and down, and zooms up to 10 times. Dan and I were both impressed that there is no delay when we pan the camera. We hooked up our monitor to both Alexa and Google Assistant (we have both in our house).

We normally have the camera view as a closeup of Nolan’s crib, but Aiden loves to take naps in our bed so it’s nice to be able to move the camera to the bed during those times. Sometimes they take naps at the same time (on very lucky days!), having the ability to move the camera wide — we can keep an eye on both of them while they nap. We love having options!

Although the camera and Wi-Fi technology are big pluses to this VTech RM5762 Wi-Fi Remote Access Video Monitor some of the other features this monitor have really set it apart. We regularly refer to the temperature display on the parent unit to ensure comfortable sleep for our littlest guy. It alerts us if the room is getting too hot or cold so that we can adjust the temperature in the room. We are also able to play soothing sounds and lullabies from the camera unit. Our baby is just out of the fourth trimester and loves the heartbeat sound.

Overall the VTech RM5762 Wi-Fi Remote Access Video Monitor has been the perfect monitor system for us. As every family approaches parenting differently, I would recommend checking out all of VTech’s baby monitors so you can choose the best unit for your style.

Hi, I’m Melissa! I am a mama to an energetic preschooler and newborn, a wife to my amazing husband Dan, and I work full-time as a meeting planner. I started this blog because, after having my first little guy, I quickly learned that exhaustion and baby brain causes you to forget some of the amazing (sometimes horrible and sometimes wonderful) details related to the first several months of raising a baby. Realizing that we would probably have more kids in the future, I wanted to document everything, so we would remember what worked the first time around, and hopefully help other first time mamas along the way!
