The Perfect Hospital Gift From Baby to Big Brother

The Perfect Hospital Gift From Baby to Big Brother

Shortly after the excitement settled that we would be adding to our little family I started to plan for our toddler’s transition to big brother. He has had our undivided attention for 3.5 years so I wanted to make the adjustment as easy and fun as possible. We wanted to make the new baby’s arrival to be an event. Aiden loves birthday parties so we got him excited about having a birthday party for his new baby brother. A big part of the party was to have a gift for Aiden at the hospital from the new baby.

Dan and I had a great time putting together the perfect hospital gift from baby to his big brother, scroll down to see what Aiden got from his baby brother!

Polaroid Digital Camera

Our little guy has been really into cameras. I am sure it’s because I am always taking pictures of him with my DSLR camera and he always wants to try to use it too. I knew I would be taking lots of pictures of his baby brother too so I thought a little Aiden sized camera would be a perfect gift. I debated between getting a “toddler” camera or a “real” camera and settled on an inexpensive Polaroid Digital Camera. It is small, lightweight, waterproof, and comes with a rubber case which is useful for clumsy toddlers. The picture quality is not great, but for a three year old it’s a great starter camera to practice with. Don’t forget the SD card and rechargeable batteries.

Best Brother Shirt

I found this Best Brother shirt which was a perfect addition to a gift from the new baby to his big brother.

Personalized Children’s Book

Next, I found an adorable personalized children’s book from Hooray Heroes. It is called The Adventures of Nolan and Aiden and is full of sweet poems all about the adventures the two main characters, Nolan and Aiden go on. I was able to choose 15 of my favorites from about 24 options. I selected the poems that applied best to our interests as a family and things Aiden loves to do. I was also able to add a little inscription which makes it even more special. You can use RAINBOWS15 for 15% off all of Hooray Heroes books (check out this one for Father’s Day).

The Hooray Heroes offers upgraded packaging. A box which includes a game that I thought would be fun for the boys to play when they get a little older. The camera, shirt, and book all fit perfectly inside. For now, Aiden loves reading to Nolan about their future adventures — and of course taking pictures of his new little brother.

We brought everything with us to the hospital and had it ready for Nolan’s birthday party when Aiden came to meet him for the first time!

Hi, I’m Melissa! I am a mama to an energetic toddler, a wife to my amazing husband Dan, and I work full-time as a meeting planner. I started this blog because, after having my little guy, I quickly learned that exhaustion and baby brain causes you to forget some of the amazing (sometimes horrible and sometimes wonderful) details related to the first several months of raising a baby. Considering we may have more kids in the future, I want to document everything we do, so we remember what worked the first time around, and hopefully help other first time mamas along the way!
