I realize that we are at the tail end of the Winter Olympics, but the little guy had so much fun watching and learning about the Olympics I wanted to do a quick round-up to celebrate. I had no idea how many fun books there are inspired by the Olympic Games for kids. These books all highlighted a lot of the things Aiden saw on TV and I could see him putting things together. He definitely loved skating and ski jumping the best. I figured there is still a day left so Amazon Prime or the Kindle book is an option or if you have bad weather like we do, maybe a fun trip to the local library to see if they have these favorite childrens books about the winter Olympics.

Here are our favorite childrens books about the winter Olympics:
- Bunny Slopes: This book is ADORABLE. It’s about a bunny who is skiing but it is interactive. It prompts you to shake, tap, and move the book around in order to “help” the bunny ski. The little guy couldn’t stop laughing. It’s not specifically about the Olympics so it’s a great winter book in general and I definitely recommend it.
- Max and Marla: This book is about two best friends who are aspiring Olympic sledders. They learn a lesson in the book about preparation, practice, and perseverance — and that friendship is the most important thing. Even though it’s about aspiring Olympians it is a cute story that could be read anytime.
- The Grizzly Bear Who Lost His Grrrr: This book is about a Grizzly Bear who has the loudest growl and wins a competition every year. One day his “grrrr” is stolen. He learns about the importance of friendship and works together with the other animals in the forest to find it. It’s a great story for any time of the year.
- Snowman Paul at the Winter Olympics: This book is about a snowman named Paul who is competing at the Olympics. He learns a very important lesson about being truthful and fair competition.
I love that through these books Aiden’s memories of the Olympics will live on because it really has been a ton of fun experiencing it through his eyes!
