What kid doesn’t love a ball pit? I knew pretty early on that I wanted Aiden to have one. Ultimately I ended up with a fun do it yourself (DIY) baby ball pitย thanks to some help from my mom!

Originally, I considered the Infantino Grow-With-Me Activity Gym and Ball Pit. I was going to get it for Aiden for Christmas last year, but I didn’t and there wasn’t another occasion for me to purchase it for him. We try not to purchase toys when it is not a special occasion. He had the Kick and Play which is a similar idea so I couldn’t justify the cost.
My next thought was to create my own. I found this really cool tutorial online from one of my favorite mommy bloggers for a ball pit in a closet. But, there were two issues:
- We are currently renting our townhouse and can’t make any major changes.
- We could probably get past number one, but in our townhouse space is a premium. Even if we had an extra closet, I don’t think we would use it on a ball pit ๐
I still love the idea and maybe when we own a home I might do it.
I went back to the drawing board. Funny enough one day out of the blue I got a call from my mom. She told me she sent a large package and it was for Aiden, but it required some explaining. I didn’t think much of it, but when the package arrived and I opened it up imagine my delight to find the supplies to make my own ball pit!!!
How did I know what it was? I read these adorable directions.

This ball pit only requires two supplies and three steps, so it is fast and EASY. Here is how you can create a ball pit for your baby. It can also be cleaned up and stored easily.

Directions:
- Inflate the pool

- Have fun!
I can’t tell you how much Aiden loves his ball pit. He likes to throw the balls, lay in the balls and cover himself with the balls. It’s the perfect size for him and fits in his play corner. Now that he is mobile, he crawls in and out of the ball pit. It’s just as great as I thought it would be…now if only I could jump in ๐
