My Top Three 2019 Personal Goals and What You Can Expect!

Popular DC mommy blogger Baby Castan on Board shares her goals for 2019

I can’t believe it is 2019. I hope everyone had a truly amazing holiday filled with family, friends, and fun! I took a complete break from both my full-time job and the blog and let me say it was much needed and a great reminder that sometimes I just need to relax a bit! Going into a new year I always like to sit down and think about the things I would like to accomplish during the upcoming year. I thought I would share my top 3 2019 personal goals as well as some of the content I am planning for 2019.

Here are my top three 2019 personal goals:

  1. Organization — We live in a really small space. As Aiden grows it seems we accumulate more and more stuff. Dan and I have been on a rampage trying to purge as much as possible so we don’t go crazy! I have heard great things about the book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up so I am really looking forward to reading it and hoping to get some good insight about being better about hanging on to clutter. There is also a Netflix show about the book that I’ve heard is pretty good.
  2. Spend Less — I have read a few articles recently about how many Americans are mostly living paycheck to paycheck. It’s a scary thought, but not something I am a stranger to even though Dan and I are fortunate to have good jobs. In the last few years, we have really prioritized our spending habits and we have been making good progress in the finances department. It felt really good to pay off our biggest credit card in 2018, but we still have a ways to go. In 2019, we are going to pay more attention to the money we spend and continue to build our savings.
  3. Move into a Bigger Space — Related to goal number 1…we came to the painful realization that our roughly 1,000 sqft of space is not enough for two people and a toddler never mind our newest addition who will be here in April. We have also accepted the fact that to get the space we want we are going to have to move at least 30-minutes from our current location. We will likely rent before we try to buy so we can find an area we are comfortable with.

Here are my blog goals for 2019:

I am really looking forward to the blog this year too. With baby number two coming you can expect more pregnancy topics as well as tips/our experience with transitioning from one to two little ones.  I am also excited to collaborate with a couple of other websites to guest post on working mom life and life with a toddler.

I want to continue to improve my readership and photography (let’s hope an upgraded camera is in my future :D)

Hi, I’m Melissa! I am a mama to an energetic preschooler and newborn, a wife to my amazing husband Dan, and I work full-time as a meeting planner. I started this blog because, after having my first little guy, I quickly learned that exhaustion and baby brain causes you to forget some of the amazing (sometimes horrible and sometimes wonderful) details related to the first several months of raising a baby. Realizing that we would probably have more kids in the future, I wanted to document everything, so we would remember what worked the first time around, and hopefully help other first time mamas along the way!
