Product Review: Nuby Comfort 360 Plus+ Bottles

I was very excited when Nuby offered to send me some of their brand new bottles to try, review and share with you. The Nuby Comfort 360 Plus+ Silicone Anti-Reflux & Anti-Colic Bottle is a great option for parents with newborns all the way to toddlers.

I actually wish we had this bottle during Aiden’s early days and if we have another I will definitely be using these bottles. Aiden had a lot of issues with gas. In order to combat this, we always fed him in an upright position. The Nuby Comfort 360 Plus + has a weighted straw which helps with upright feeding because it follows the milk, so no matter which position you are holding the bottle the milk is easily drinkable. Once your baby is older and is drinking on his own, you can take the weighted straw part out so it’s a great bottle that will transition from newborn to toddler. In addition to general gas, if you have a baby that suffers from Gerd, reflux, or colic The Mayo Clinic and several other experts like Kelly Mom and Le Leche League recommend upright feeding so this bottle is perfect.

In those early days, we also tried to stick with “anti-colic” bottles because it decreased the amount of air that was swallowed during feedings. We never really found a good anti-colic option because they either leaked or were hard to clean. I really like the anti-colic valve on the Nuby 360 Plus + because the valves are built into the top near the nipple so there is no leaking. Since using this bottle we have had no leaks and not a ton of gas or burping which to me says it’s working!

The best part about this bottle is the breast-like shape and feel of the nipple.  Aiden was an exclusively breastfed baby, but the majority of breastmilk he received after the first three months was from a bottle because I was back at work. When Aiden was six months old we met with a lactation consultant because we were having some weight gain issues. One of the things the lactation consultant pointed out to us was that the nipples on the bottles we were using were rigid, hard and not very flexible or pliable. This is what a baby will experience when he is breastfeeding so she recommended a bottle with a flexible nipple and we noticed a difference with Aiden. This bottle reminds me very much of the option the lactation consultant recommended and I even like the shape of the Nuby bottle better than the other we were using. This bottle also comes with the option for a squeezable base which encourages latch on and assists with feeding in younger babies.

The Nuby 360 Comfort Plus nipple is made of silicone and the whole bottle is BPA free so it’s safe for babies to drink from.  Another really cool option about this bottle is that it can transition to a sippy cup when your baby is ready to start one! They have a transition package which includes handles so that they can start feeding themselves, a spout top for when your baby is old enough to begin the transition to cup drinking, and you can remove handles and the straw so your child can practice holding and tilting the cup for drinking. Once your baby is ready to drink from a straw there is a flip top straw top that you can replace the top with. It’s great for travel and the flip-top keeps the straw sanitary. It’s sold out at Babies R’ Us right now, but as soon as it is available I will be getting this package!

About Melissa

Hi, I’m Melissa! I am a mama to my baby Aiden Milo (born November 2015), and a police wife to my husband Dan. I started this blog because, after having Aiden, I quickly learned that exhaustion and baby brain causes you to forget some of the er-lovely (sometimes horrible and sometimes wonderful) details related to the first several months of raising a baby. Considering we may have more kids in the future, I want to document everything we do, so we remember what worked the first time around, and hopefully help other first time mamas along the way!
  • those look really nice. My boy is EBF but when I eventually go back to work he is going to need to take a bottle. Maybe these would work for him.

I love the shape of this one, and that you note the nipples are really pliant and flexible. I think rigidity was one of my son’s issues with bottle feeding, though my middle daughter was thankfully less picky. This seems like a much nicer starter bottle for our youngest!
