Using Pinterest for Workout Ideas While on a Business Trip

I travel quite a bit for work; at least once a month. As a working mama it can be tough to have the time and motivation to workout to start with, but add in travel and it can seem even more difficult; however, it’s important to me to try to maintain a healthy lifestyle (especially while I am on the road). When I go on a business trip the last thing I want to do is workout. I work long days and hotel gyms are never the same (even within brands). They come in many different sizes and often they don’t have a lot of space or equipment.  This means I must be creative about my workout and who wants to do that? I try to work out at least every other day while I am on the road and using Pinterest for workout ideas is my secret.

For a working mama on a business trip, using Pinterest for workout ideas is a great way to make it easy while you are on the road.

Now that basically all hotels offer free wifi in the public areas it is easier than ever to find workouts to do while on the road. I used to pull up YouTube videos but often the gym doesn’t have the equipment or space for these workouts plus, if there are others in the gym you don’t want to disturb them. I found a better way to find a great workout is to search on the Pinterest app for workout + equipment.

For example, take my most recent trip to Berlin, the hotel I stayed at had a very small gym with not a lot of equipment. However, they did have a Bosu which is one of my favorite workout items at the gym I used to go to back at home. I quickly searched Pinterest for a Bosu workout and got a great Pin on a workout targeting the legs/butt. As mamas, this is an important workout. The pin was so easy to follow and I got a great workout in.  It was also fun to use equipment I haven’t used in a little bit and a great change of pace.

You can find so many different types of workouts using Pinterest. If there is a muscle group you would like to work out like the core, legs, or back you can search by those and add in available equipment or even no equipment.  I really like HIIT workouts so I will often search for those and do a few rounds. If you are doing a Yoga or HIIT workout you may not even need to leave your hotel room because they don’t always require any equipment. I love that if I find one I like it’s super easy to save. I have a whole board of workout and exercise Pinterest Pins that I can go back to. One of the great things about Pinterest is that the workout is usually clearly laid out on the actual pin graphic; however, if you need more information you can click on the pin and it will take you right to the site.

Using Pinterest for workout ideas is a great way to make it easy for yourself while you are on the road or in a situation where you don’t have a lot of space or equipment. Pinterest can be used at home as well if you can’t make it to the gym and need to work out at home; however, I prefer YouTube videos for home workouts such as these by Love By Lynn.

    Such a great idea to use Pinterest as a resource while traveling for workout! I often face the same dilemmas as you with different equipment, too little space, etc. Definitely going to look up some workouts for my next business trip! Also, that Bosu workout looks too fun!

  • yes! using the hotel gym can be tricky if you’re not familiar. i don’t use pinterest but i use a lot of IG when i need some work out inspiration. you can get an excellent work out in with a bosu and some free weights!
