Most Used Items — Month Two

Aiden will turn two months tomorrow. It is crazy how quickly time goes by. I finally feel like we have hit a groove. Aiden stays awake longer and he is babbling and smiling while he is awake instead of crying. Here are the most used items for month two!

Rock and Play — We are still using the Rock and Play for sleep.

Swaddles — Aiden is still swaddled for naps and night time sleep, otherwise, he is in the Zipadee Zip or not swaddled.

DockATot — The Dock a Tot is a multi-functional lounger which we use for many different things. At home, we use it for naps to encourage Aiden to get used to sleeping flat and without vibration and we plan to place him in it in his crib when we transition him from the Rock and Play. We bring it to friends/family when we visit so we can put him down with a few toys, change his diaper, let him sleep etc. The great thing is that it is very lightweight and even more portable than the Rock and Play. What I do not like about it, is that the basic model is “pristine white” which is not great when you have a baby and the covers are really expensive. I usually put a swaddle blanket down before putting him down to avoid ruining the cover. Get 10% off your DockATot here.

Bouncer/Swing — Aiden is staying awake for longer now and now enjoys looking around his little world. I can usually place him in the bouncer or swing and get some things done (ie; take a shower, clean house, write blog entries, etc.). He will also fall asleep when he gets tired which is great.

Kick and Play Piano Gym —  Aiden LOVES this activity mat. He will kick the keys, bat at the toys and smile and babble at himself in the mirror for a good 20-30 minutes.

Beatbo — The Beatbo is a cute robot toy that lights up and sings. It is meant for older babies but Aiden loves the flashing lights and music. I think this is a toy that will provide entertainment for awhile!

I usually interchange the bouncer, swing, kick and play and beatbo in between feedings so he is stimulated but not overly stimulated and doesn’t get bored.

About Melissa

Hi, I’m Melissa! I am a mama to my baby Aiden Milo (born November 2015), and a police wife to my husband Dan. I started this blog because, after having Aiden, I quickly learned that exhaustion and baby brain causes you to forget some of the er-lovely (sometimes horrible and sometimes wonderful) details related to the first several months of raising a baby. Considering we may have more kids in the future, I want to document everything we do, so we remember what worked the first time around, and hopefully help other first time mamas along the way!
