Halloween is sneaking up quickly! It is one of our favorite holidays, which you might have guessed if you read my last post on our favorite Halloween books! Dressing up for Halloween is always fun and I usually have a plan in place for Aiden’s costume in the summer! I started collecting items for his Halloween costume last month and I can’t wait to share it.
This year, we decided on a toddler Harry Potter costume (since I can still make these decisions 😆 ). As always, I love making my own character inspired costumes instead of buying store bought just because I know I will use all the items again.
I love how this toddler Harry Potter came out — it’s seriously the cutest thing.

This is what I used for Aiden’s Toddler Harry Potter Costume:
Fleece sweatshirt (it can be cold on Halloween night!)
Hand knit Harry Potter inspired scarf — I asked for a custom toddler size (4.5 feel long by 3.5 inches wide)
If you live in a warm area or have indoor activities planned and think the fleece it too much, Ryann, the mama behind Cuddle Sleep Dream gave me the idea of doing a maroon suspender shirt with a gold tie that either says Gryffindor or has a lightening bolt. You can contact her for a custom order!
The only assembly for this toddler Harry Potter costume was to add the patch to the sweatshirt. I simply taped it because I don’t want it permenantly on the sweatshirt, but the patch I got does iron on, so you could iron it on. I used some black eye liner to draw a lightening bolt on his forehead. Aiden loved running around outside and putting spells on everything! We can’t wait to show off his costume at a few Halloween events in our area in the coming month.
