Happy Eight Months! Eight Months Baby Update

Aiden with 8 month boards

Happy eight months to our baby boy. As a mom, the eight month mark is tough. He is much closer to a year than a newborn, and I can see how much he is growing and changing every single day. It’s hard to imagine in four short months we will be throwing his first birthday! But enough of the sentimental stuff. Here is our eight month baby update.

Aiden is fiery. He has a ton of energy, and loves to be the center of attention; however, he is also really cool and laid back. As long as he has people around he is happy.

He has started to get up on his hands and knees. He hasn’t quite figured out how to move forward or backward yet, but it’s only a matter of time — we think. He does like to walk if we hold his hands. He can also pull himself up and stand if he is holding on to something.

He is a little chatterbox. Unless he is asleep or eating he is making some kind of noise. He said his first “words” which were “blah, blah, blah”, what I don’t understand is if he can say “blah” why can’t he say “ma”?!

He had lots of new foods this month including asparagus, raspberries, blueberries and yogurt. He loved them all! We are still giving him purees in addition to solid food. He still has five bottles of milk a day.

He still doesn’t have any teeth, but at least the amber bracelet seems to be working.

He loves swimming, laughing, food, being read to, walks, meeting new people and bath time. We even think he likes nap time (or maybe I am just telling myself that to feel better).

That’s our eight month baby update.

Hi, I’m Melissa! I am a mama to an energetic preschooler and newborn, a wife to my amazing husband Dan, and I work full-time as a meeting planner. I started this blog because, after having my first little guy, I quickly learned that exhaustion and baby brain causes you to forget some of the amazing (sometimes horrible and sometimes wonderful) details related to the first several months of raising a baby. Realizing that we would probably have more kids in the future, I wanted to document everything, so we would remember what worked the first time around, and hopefully help other first time mamas along the way!
