Playtime

This area changed the most during month nine. I didn’t think the day would come, but Aiden spent little time on his Kick and Play. He didn’t use the exersaucer as much as previous months either. He did use the walker quite a bit. His favorite thing to do was practice standing and sitting on the window sill. He also loved his ball pit. More information on the ball pit coming soon! We found that he could spend more time playing by himself with really anything we had laying around. However, he still likes for us to be close by.  He loves looking at books especially ones that have texture like Melissa and Doug’s Whose Feet.

Bedtime

Aiden is regularly taking at least two naps every day — yay! We found it is helpful to put him in the Zipadeezip and DockATot just like bedtime. Our bedtime routine hasn’t changed much. Aiden still consistently goes to bed around 7pm in the zippy and dock. He is more interested in having a lovey — although he doesn’t NEED it to sleep. In particular he loves a little bear that we picked up at a craft show. He still uses a Wubbanub (pacifier) mainly for sleeping — he needs it less and less each day.

Bath and Body

We still love our Burt’s Bees products for bath time. This month, we went back to Pampers Swaddlers, and moved up to size two! We have been using essential oils a lot more for teething pain, and if he is fussy or tired and won’t go down easily. Contact me if you are interested in oils!

Not much new to report here. It was hot so we used the gel cooling liner and mister fan for his stroller. We used lots of Babyganics sunscreen. We have been using Aiden’s Graco Click Connect stroller a lot when we go out shopping or indoor places where space is tight because it is really lightweight and small. I actually just keep it in my car.  I found out by accident that our Chicco infant car seat clicks into this stroller, which has been a little bit of a game changer, even though he doesn’t usually sit in the infant seat in the stroller, it is helpful if he is asleep and we don’t want to disturb him (which we don’t 🙂 ).

Feeding

Aiden is eating solid foods three times a day. Actually, I should say at least three times a day. He LOVES eating, maybe more than anything else. In the morning he has eggs, muffins or fruit. For snacks he will have veggies, fruit or these snack balls. He also really likes Puffs (does any baby not like Puffs?).  For dinner, it’s really whatever we eat and a puree. If we are out and about, we usually bring pouches with us. There are the ones you can buy at the store (we usually go with Happy Tots), or we fill our Kiindle bags with puree and freeze those and take them with us if we go out.  He officially dropped his fifth bottle so he is now down to four six-ounce bottles per day.

About Melissa

Hi, I’m Melissa! I am a mama to my baby Aiden Milo (born November 2015), and a police wife to my husband Dan. I started this blog because, after having Aiden, I quickly learned that exhaustion and baby brain causes you to forget some of the er-lovely (sometimes horrible and sometimes wonderful) details related to the first several months of raising a baby. Considering we may have more kids in the future, I want to document everything we do, so we remember what worked the first time around, and hopefully help other first time mamas along the way!
